Moves to the next card. The whole card is the button, so this works on a phone held in one hand.
Next card, without looking away from the screen. This is the one to use when you are running the scene out loud.
Back one card, for when a line gets away from you and you want to take the run at it again.
Ends the run and puts you back on the full deck, where the settings are. It also leaves full screen.
On the nav bar once a run has started. The deck takes the whole screen and nothing else on the page can distract you. Everything above still works.
Two settings worth knowing
Hide your lines. Your own cards go blank and just say "your line". Run the scene, say it from memory, and press space to check yourself against the next card.
Set timing. Turn this on before a run and Go Offbook records how long you spent on each card. Play that run back afterward and the cards turn themselves at your pace, hands free.
The player, which is a different way to work
The deck is one card at a time. Run the scene is the read-through: every other part is read to you, your lines stay covered, and with the microphone on each word lights up as you say it. Three things there are worth finding.
The whole scene at once, in large type, with the line you are on held in the middle of the frame while the script moves under it. A+ and A− set the size and it is remembered. Put it in full screen, stand the phone up, and the eyeline is where the camera is.
Turns the camera on, counts three, two, one, and records while the scene plays. The take never leaves your device: it is saved straight to your downloads. The microphone hears the room, so wear headphones if you do not want the reader on the tape.
On your own scenes. Give any line a cue - whispered, sarcastic, urgent - and click the words that carry the weight. The card still shows the line exactly as written; only the reading changes. Recasting a part to a different voice is on the same page.
In full screen, space plays and pauses, and the arrow keys step a line at a time. Outside full screen they belong to the page, so they scroll as usual.
Sharing a scene
Share on My scenes gives you a link. Anyone holding it can run the scene and read opposite you without an account, which is the point: your reader is not a customer. Signed in, they can add it to their own scenes so it is still there tomorrow, or take a copy to mark up with their own part and their own direction. A copy is theirs and never touches yours.
Stop sharing kills the link and removes the scene from the lists of everyone who added it. The separate link a reader was sent keeps working, because that one was handed out on purpose and revoking a share should not break it.
